Missing Swimmer Search Ends at Nambucca Heads

A search has concluded following a report of a missing swimmer in the Nambucca River earlier today.

About 1.10pm (Tuesday 27 February 2024), emergency services were called to the Nambucca River, near Nelson Street, following reports a swimmer was seen in the water before failing to resurface.

Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District arrived and immediately commenced a search for the man.

The search involved local police as well as Surf Life Saving NSW and Marine Rescue NSW.

Following inquiries, police viewed CCTV footage which showed the swimmer - who remains unidentified - returning safely to shore a short time after the initial report.
