Landholders and river users, including pumpers, on the Mitta Mitta River are advised to take into account the forecast releases of water from Dartmouth Dam and make any necessary adjustment to their river activities.
Into February continued transfers are required from Dartmouth Dam to Hume Dam, which will see two pulses across the month. Releases from Dartmouth (measured at Coleman's gauge) are currently near 2,400 megalitres per day (ML/day).
First pulse commencing on 28 January 2026
The first pulse is planned to commence on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, until reaching the target flow rate of approximately 7,900 ML/day by Thursday, 29 January 2026. From Friday, 30 January 2026, flows will then steadily fall to between 4,000 to 5,000 ML/day by Monday, 9 February 2026, where it will remain for approximately 6 days.
Second pulse commencing on 15 February 2026
A second pulse is planned to commence on Sunday, 15 February 2026 until reaching the target flow rate of approximately 8,600 ML/day by Monday, 16 February 2026. Flows will remain at this rate for several days before it will then steadily fall to target a range between 6,000 to 7,000 ML/day for the remainer of the month.
