[Sydney, 14 February 2024] – UN Women Australia is excited to announce Moana Hope as the Sydney Headliner for UN Women Australia's International Women's Day on March 8.

Moana has successfully forged a career both on and off the field, a former AFLW player representing the biggest sporting club in Australia, Collingwood, Moana continues to take on new and exciting challenges, from running her own business to placing 3rd in Australian Survivor All Stars in 2020 and hosting her own radio show.

"I don't think women get the same opportunities as men, and I want to see women shining in more areas of life. In sport, in business, everywhere," said Ms Hope. UN Women Australia CEO Simone Clarke said that this is set to be a powerful Headline address, one not to be missed.

"From hearing Moana's trailblazing AFLW journey and passion for women in sports, to her passion for women breaking down barriers off the field in areas of business and entrepreneurship, audiences are set for an inspiring event.", said Ms Clarke.

In 2023 Moana joined the team on the new digital radio show Disrupt Radio, with her own daily show 'Entrepreneur Her'.

The theme for International Women's Day 2024 is 'Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress', based on the priority theme for the United Nations 68th Commission on the Status of Women, exploring the pathways to greater economic inclusion for women and girls everywhere.

Ms Hope joins an inspiring speaker lineup for UN Women Australia's International Women's Day events in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth. The events will also feature a national headline presentation from Michele Bullock, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, engaging in a rare conversation about her passion for inclusion, diversity and belonging, and her perspectives on diverse and equal leadership.
