Bensley Road Reserve's new clubhouse has been officially opened, marking a major milestone for one of Campbelltown's largest sporting clubs.
Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound joined Gunners Soccer Club President Gary Phillips, club members and the local community to officially open the new facility and unveil a commemorative plaque at the reserve.
The $2.55 million upgrade has delivered a significantly expanded clubhouse featuring new changerooms, referee's room, meeting room, BBQ area, canteen facilities, storage rooms and an outdoor spectator area, alongside new paving and landscaping at the reserve entrance.
Mayor Darcy Lound said the completed project would provide long-term benefits for the growing Gunners Soccer Club.
"Gunners is one of Campbelltown's biggest sporting clubs, supporting a large number of junior and senior players from Macquarie Fields and surrounding suburbs," Cr Lound said.
"This upgrade delivers modern, high-quality facilities that will support the club's continued growth and provide a more welcoming and accessible environment for players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators."
