More support for regional community arts and heritage organisations

The $3 million CHART program is continuing to back regional community-run arts and cultural heritage organisations including museums, galleries and historical societies.

$232,000 in vital funding will support organisations as they look to return to normal operations following some 2 years of disruptions caused by COVID‑19. To date, the program has awarded $368,598 to 131 projects

Grants of up to $3,000 are available to support projects that preserve Australia's cultural heritage in regional areas and develop cultural tourism experiences. Projects can fall into the following categories:

  • collections management, such as conservation, collections development and display cabinets
  • minor capital works, such as ramps and handrails
  • printing and fabrication, such as banners, flyers, brochures and signage
  • public events, such as community events and special interest programming.

The Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA) is delivering the program on behalf of the Australian Government.

Eligible arts, cultural and heritage organisations delivering projects in regional Australia are encouraged to apply. Applications close 29 April 2022.
