Mother and children in hospital after Bendigo collision

A mother and her two children are in hospital following a collision in Bendigo this morning.

The collision happened just after 10am when the local woman, aged in her 30s and her two children, one in a pram, were struck by a vehicle as they crossed High Street at the intersection with Short Street.

The woman and her children, a one-year-old and a four-year-old, were conveyed to hospital for observation.

The driver of the car, a 20-year-old Bendigo man stopped at the scene and assisted the woman and her children.

The family and their dog were crossing at traffic-signal controlled crossing and police are investigating if sun-glare was a contributing factor.

A number of witnesses stopped at the scene and rendered assistance.
