A motorcycle rider has been hospitalised in a critical condition following a crash in Sydney's west overnight.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Greygums and McHenry Roads, Cranebrook, just before 8pm (Monday 22 August 2022), after reports a motorcycle and car had collided.
The unregistered trailbike and rider caught alight, and the driver extinguished the flames.
The rider, a 29-year-old man, was treated for life-threatening injuries and airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
The Holden Captiva driver, a 29-year-old man, was treated by paramedics for burns to his hands and taken to Concord Hospital. He will also undergo mandatory testing.
Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene which has been forensically examined.
An investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
