Motorcyclist critical after crash, NSW

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after a crash south of Sydney yesterday, NSW Police say.


Emergency services were called to Lawrence Hargrave Drive at Stanwell Park just before 3.30pm (Thursday 13 December 2018), after a Yamaha motorcycle and a Kenworth Prime Mover crashed head on.

The 16-year-old male rider was seriously injured. He was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

The truck driver was uninjured. He was also taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Wollongong Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police have been told a second motorcyclist was seen travelling north along Lawrence Hargrave Drive prior to the crash and failed to stop.

Anyone with information, including dash-cam footage, is urged to come forward.
