Motorcyclist dies after two vehicle crash - Hernani

A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in the state's Northern Rivers region today.

About 9.30am (Friday 7 April 2023), emergency services were called to Waterfall Way, Hernani – about 30km west of Dorrigo – following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District found a car and motorcycle had collided.

Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the female motorcyclist died at the scene.

The rider is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in her 20s.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to Dorrigo Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established, and investigations have commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
