Perth Detectives have charged a 33-year-old man following an assault that occurred in Perth on Tuesday, 20 October 2026.
About 5.30am, police will allege the man approached the 56-year-old male victim outside a café on Pier Street and struck him to the back of the head with a golf club.
It will be further alleged the assault was unprovoked and the two men were not known to each other.
The victim was conveyed by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The 33-year-old man from Usher was charged with 'Unlawful Wounding.'
He is next due to appear before Perth Magistrates Court on 18 November 2026.
