MRF reporting reminder for tenement holders

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) is reminding tenement holders about the imminent deadline to complete and lodge this year’s Mining Rehabilitation Fund (MRF) reports.

All tenement holders are required to submit their reports before 1 July and failure to do so will result in a $4000 infringement notice per tenement.

DMIRS Executive Director, Resource and Environmental Compliance Division Karen Caple, said the department is already seeing an excellent submission rate.

“Last year we achieved a 99 per cent compliance rate by 30 June, and we’re hoping to achieve that again this year,” Ms Caple said.

Public access computers are available in the Library at Mineral House on Level 1 and at each of the regional offices where staff can assist tenement holders to complete their MRF report. It is also possible to submit the report using a smartphone or tablet.
