Mural make-over for Civic Drive Outdoor Performance Centre

Council is currently seeking experienced artists to create an artwork on a prominent building that serves as an outdoor amphitheatre and recreation space, located at 45 Civic Drive, Greensborough.

The successful artist will be awarded the opportunity to design and install an artwork in response to the creative brief, the value of this exciting project being $18,000.

Nillumbik Mayor, Ben Ramcharan said that the mural commission is intended to enhance the site.

"We hope that the mural will raise the profile of the performance and play spaces at the facility and provide a striking visual backdrop for events, including live music, theatre, dance performances and other activities and programs," Cr Ramcharan said.

Community members from Friends of Apollo Parkways, local residents, the library, local schools and pre-schools who have been engaged as a reference group for the project, expressed the importance of responding to one the following themes:

  • Natural elements, nature
  • Performing arts, theatre, books and literature, learning
  • Play, adventure and imagination.

Project completion date 31 May 2023.

Expressions of interest are now open and proposals must be submitted later than Wednesday 11 January 2023.
