Murrindindi Shire Celebrates Four New Citizens

Murrindindi Shire Council celebrated four new Australian Citizens on Tuesday 23 April at an official Citizenship Ceremony held at the Alexandra Council Chamber.

Tony, Aleesha, Linda, and Supattra, have pledged their loyalty to Australia, its people, and its democratic beliefs, and to uphold and obey the laws of Australia and respect the rights and liberties of its people.

In attendance were distinguished guests including Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor Damien Gallagher, CEO Livia Bonazzi, Deputy Mayor Sue Carpenter, Deborah Mathieson – Alexandra RSL and Alexandra Lions Club and Ray Mathieson – Alexandra RSL, Alexandra Lions Club and Uniting Church of Alexandra, Penny Paxman – Rotary Club of Yea who were pleased to congratulate our newest Australians.

Council extends its warmest congratulations to all the conferees and wishes them all the best in their new journey as Australian Citizens.

Council will proudly host a further two Citizenship Ceremonies in 2024, on 23 July and 22 October.
