The Music Makers perform at The Pavilion

The Pavilion Kiama was proud to help continue the tradition of The Music Makers with The Disability Trust group staging their 16th Creative Performance Evening earlier this month.

More than 200 people packed out Kiama Council's iconic seaside events venue with many audience members queuing up before the doors opened to secure the best seats in the house.

The atmosphere was electric as performers prepared to take to the stage after months of rehearsals and hard work.

The Music Makers delivered nine spectacular dance routines throughout the evening, including a crowd-favourite tap performance.

A costume change for every routine added colour and excitement to the production, while the performers' energy and enthusiasm never faltered.

"Everyone had an incredible time," The Pavilion manager Jackie Hall said, "with the Music Makers shining bright on the night."

The Disability Trust's Manager Sport & Recreation Services Melissa Hurley said the concert was a wonderful celebration of the Music Makers' dedication and achievements.

"It's an opportunity for our participants to build confidence, develop friendships and showcase their talents in front of a supportive community," she said.

"The pride on the performers' faces as they stepped onto the stage was incredible to see. Their commitment over the past few months really shone through in every performance."

The evening also featured a fantastic line-up of guest performers from across the Illawarra, including dancers, singers and a ventriloquist.

Audience members joined in the fun throughout the night, taking part in a lively pub choir singalong and line-dancing routine that had people on their feet.

"Every performer had an opportunity to shine, and that's what makes this event so special," Ms Hurley added.

"The concert celebrates ability, achievement and inclusion, and it's always inspiring to see the overwhelming support our performers receive from family, friends and the wider community."

Ms Hurley said events like the annual concert would not be possible without the dedication of volunteers, families and supporters working behind the scenes.
