Music Teacher Charged with Sex Abuse of Students in Campbelltown

A man will face court today charged with sexual violence offences allegedly committed against young music students in Sydney's south-west.

Detectives from Campbelltown City Police Area Command are conducting inquiries after receiving reports a music teacher had sexually abused two young girls on separate occasions in the early 2000s.

Following extensive inquiries, a 52-year-old man was arrested at Campbelltown Police Station on Thursday 22 December 2022.

He was charged with two counts of Aggravated indecent assault – victim under authority of offender.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually abused a 13-year-old female student in 2001 and a five-year-old female student in 2004/5 during private music lessons at a home at Englorie Park.

The Campbelltown man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Thursday 12 January 2023).

Investigations are continuing.
