NASA Astronaut to Discuss American Space Record in News Conference

NASA astronautMark Vande Hei, back on Earth after breaking the record for the longest single spaceflight in history by an American, will participate in a virtual news conference at 10 a.m. EDT Tuesday, April 5, from the agencys Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The news conference will air live on NASA Television, theNASA app, and the agencyswebsite.

Vande Heis extended mission aboard the International Space Station led to a total of 355 days in space. The extended mission undertaken by Vande Hei will allow NASA to better observe the effects of long-duration spaceflight on humans as the plans to return to the Moon under theArtemis programand prepare for human exploration ofMars.
