Genomics is changing health care in Australia, offering new opportunities to prevent, diagnose and treat disease, delivering more personalised and effective care for all Australians.
The National Health Genomics Policy Framework and Implementation Plan 2026-2030 (National Framework) provides a coordinated, national approach to the continued integration of genomics into health care. It was jointly developed by the Australian Government and state and territory governments, with input from consumers, communities, clinicians, researchers and industry.
Over the five-year term of the National Framework, Australian governments will work together to strengthen system capability and confidence in genomics and support the continued integration of genomics into Australia's health system.
