Nativity Scene At Geelong Botanic Gardens

A traditional nativity scene is on display at the Geelong Botanic Gardens, offering a peaceful place to reflect on the meaning of Christmas.

The temporary addition is part of the Christmas in Geelong program and recognises the importance of the annual Christian celebration.

Set among tranquil greenery near the Conservatory and serenaded by birdsong, the installation features baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the Three Wise Men, shepherd, and animals.

For those of us who observe Christmas as a religious occasion, the nativity scene symbolises peace, love, joy and hope. The Gardens provides a respectful and welcoming space for reflection among nature in the heart of Geelong.
One of the beautiful things about being part of a vibrant and diverse multicultural community is the many ways we celebrate. We've proudly embraced tradition, culture and connection in our program for all to enjoy.

The new outdoor location also improves accessibility and overnight security after being at the Wurriki Nyal Civic Precinct and Johnstone Park in recent years.

The nativity scene can be viewed during Geelong Botanic Gardens opening hours, 8am–7pm daily until 7 January. Entry to the gardens is free.
