The Nature Conservancy Australia (TNC) is today launching its 2025 Oceania Photo Contest, inviting photographers from Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea to submit images that capture the wonder of nature.

Building on the success of last year's inaugural contest, which drew thousands of entries from both established and emerging photographers, the 2025 contest continues to celebrate the power of photography to connect people with nature and inspire conservation action.

Dr Eddie Game, TNC's Head of Oceania Programs, said that the 2025 Oceania Photo Contest encourages entries from nature lovers with an eye for detail, keen to share their stories about a moment captured in time.

"Oceania is an extraordinary region, with many of its species found nowhere else on Earth. We're on the lookout for shots that help capture the vibrance and vulnerability of its incredible wildlife, landscapes and ecosystems – from rare species and dramatic landscapes to quiet moments of connection between people and nature," Dr Game said.

"Photography helps us see the world from a different perspective," said renowned nature photographer Jarrod Boord, who is returning as judge for 2025. "This contest is about more than beautiful pictures; it's about inspiring people to protect what they love."

Amateur and professional photographers alike, can enter photos across six categories: People & Nature, Climate, Water, Lands, Plants & Fungi, Wildlife.

A prize pool of $15,000 in gift cards, including a $6,000 Grand Prize for the top photo across the categories.

The contest is free to enter, with entries accepted via The Nature Conservancy Australia website. Winning images will be featured in TNC's national campaigns, digital platforms and public exhibitions.
