New Brunswick Botanical Garden Boosts Eco Efforts

Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Today, René Arseneault, MP for Madawaska-Restigouche, announced a federal contribution of $159,682 to help la Société du Jardin Botanique du Nouveau-Brunswick modernize its greenhouse heating system.

The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA, and the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

The investment will allow the New Brunswick Botanical Garden to replace the existing wood burning stove with a more efficient, clean-burning pellet boiler. This improvement will lower operating costs and enable the garden to extend the season by adding activities in the fall and early spring.

Today's announcement highlights how the Government of Canada is contributing to Atlantic Canada's momentum by strengthening our communities, creating new opportunities, and setting the stage for a strong, sustainable future.
