Rebecca Hanley has been appointed as the new Independent Chair of Go Goldfields Leadership Table.

A panel consisting of several Go Goldfields partners, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing; Regional Development Victoria; and Central Goldfields Shire Council, was unanimous in their recommendation to offer Rebecca the role following an expression of interest process.

Manager Go Goldfields Carolyn Bartholomeusz said the Independent Chair position was adopted in late 2020 following changes to Go Goldfields governance arrangements.

"The change was aimed at putting local people in a lead position to drive action between services providers, community and government decision-makers to build collaboration and stronger outcomes for the community.

"Rebecca's personal experience and professional leadership will be of great value to the members of the Table."

A Maryborough resident and parent with a professional background in law, Rebecca is currently the Executive General Manager of Governance & Culture with Coliban Water.

"I am excited for the opportunity to contribute my professional expertise and commitment to the local community.

"I am energised to work with Go Goldfields partners on the Every Child, Every Chance initiative and create positive change in Central Goldfields."

Rebecca will join other community members Garry Higgins and Caroline Thoroughgood, at the Leadership Table along with executives from Anglicare Victoria, Maryborough District Health Service, Committee for Maryborough, Central Goldfields Shire Council, Department of Education and Training, Department of Health, Centre for Non-Violence, Bendigo and District Aboriginal Cooperative and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing

The inaugural Independent Leadership Table Chair, Taren Gill, retired from the role earlier this year after 12 months in the role paving the for a new local leader to fill the position.
