Seniors Program Grants Deliver Connection And Community

Campaspe Shire Council is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2026 Seniors Program Grants, with funds going towards a wide variety of projects and events across the shire.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell congratulated the successful community groups.

"These grants recognise the important role local groups play in creating welcoming, accessible opportunities for older residents to connect, share experiences and continue contributing to community life," Cr Mackrell said.

"It's great to see the variety of events taking place that benefit the older members of our community.

"From community lunches in Stanhope and social outings in Tongala, to pickleball coaching in Echuca Moama and performances at Wharparilla Aged Care, these grants show just how creative and committed our local groups are when it comes to supporting older residents," Cr Mackrell said.

The recipients for the 2026 Seniors Program Grants were as follows:

  • Stanhope and District Development Committee for purchasing ingredients for the Stanhope Seniors monthly community lunches.
  • Crossenvale Community House for the 2026 Senior's Bus Trip.
  • Kyvalley Swimming Club to support two senior entertainment events at the Kyvalley Hall.
  • Rochester Bowls Club for a fun lawn bowls day during the Senior's Festival.
  • Tongala Senior Citizens Club Inc. for a coach tour to Nagambie for lunch.
  • Kyabram Development Committee to support the Kyabram Yarn Bombers group.
  • Echuca Moama Pickleball for their Seniors Coaching and Leadership through Pickleball Program.
  • Rochester Senior Citizens Club for a Christmas in July social event.
  • Lockington and District Senior Citizens for their Christmas Luncheon.
  • Rochester Probus Club for a special event to celebrate its 29th anniversary and 50 years of Probus.
  • Echuca Moama and District Probus Club for a 50 Years of Probus celebration.
  • Murray Singers Inc for performances at Wharparilla Aged Care.

The Seniors Program Grants support activities, events and programs that celebrate positive ageing, strengthen social connection and encourage older residents to stay active, involved and connected across Campaspe Shire. The grants also help community groups create welcoming spaces where older residents can build friendships, share skills and enjoy meaningful experiences close to home. Council's contribution of $12,406 will lead to the provision and projects and events to the value of $26,900.
