Graham Stallwood is appointed as the permanent Chief Executive of the Planning Inspectorate.
Graham Stallwood has been appointed as the Planning Inspectorate's permanent Chief Executive following an extensive and open recruitment process.
Graham will take up the role with immediate effect, offering strong leadership and continuity following more than 6 months as the Interim Chief Executive and 3 years as the Chief Operating Officer of the Inspectorate.
The appointment has been approved by the independent Civil Service Commission.
Chair of the Planning Inspectorate Board, Ben Alexander, said:
"I am delighted to welcome Graham as permanent Chief Executive. Although new to the organisation myself, I am confident we have found the ideal person for the role.
With over 25 years of experience in the planning system - including in roles such as council Chief Planning Officer - Graham brings an invaluable depth of knowledge. Beyond an impressive track record, he is a genuinely engaging leader with a real passion for planning, the Inspectorate and the vital role it plays.
