Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

The new suburb of Brabham is coming to life today as construction begins on the Brabham District Community Centre.

The Albanese Government's contribution of $3.8 million was delivered through the Thriving Suburbs Program ensuring the Community Centre will benefit the neighbourhood for decades to come.

The centre is designed to host local events and house operations for grassroots or not-for-profit organisations. The community will benefit from facilities including function halls, meeting rooms, kitchens, storage and an outdoor events space.

The Thriving Suburbs Program is delivering over $317 million in federal funding to local governments and not-for-profit organisations for projects that enhance liveability, build ties across the community and improve services in Australia's suburbs.

In Western Australia alone, 13 projects are being funded under the program, committing a total of $79 million to local community priorities.
