New Funds Boost Cutting-Edge Criminology Research

The Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) has opened applications for the 2025 round of Criminology Research Grants (CRG). The funding provided through the grants will support Australian academics to undertake high-quality research that tackles contemporary public policy challenges in crime and justice.

AIC Deputy Director Dr Rick Brown said the Criminology Research Advisory Council is looking for projects that deliver real-world impact and strong research outcomes.

"From tackling family and domestic violence to exploring youth justice and police procedures, past CRG recipients have addressed some of Australia's most pressing crime and justice issues.

"The AIC is committed to working closely with CRG recipients to advance knowledge on these matters. This is an opportunity to lead innovative research in crime and justice and help shape public policy in Australia," Dr Brown said.

The CRG program is administered by the AIC and is supported by the Commonwealth and all state and territory governments. The program aims to support research relevant to public policy issues, foster quality criminological research, and ensure that funded research is disseminated effectively.
