It's time to pack your bag and head to the Great Ocean Road, with an exciting new accommodation experience now open in Apollo Bay, thanks to the Allan Labor Government.
Minister for Environment Steve Dimopoulos today announced the opening of 20 new Eco-Safari Tents at the Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve, combining comfort and nature in a stunning riverside setting just moments from the beach.
Nestled at the northern end of the much-loved Reserve, the new Eco-Safari Tents combine comfort, sustainability, and the natural beauty of Apollo Bay.
Guests can choose from a variety of options, including tents with private ensuites, accessible designs with DDA-compliant bathrooms and stunning views over the Barham River.
The new affordable 'glamping' tents are part of a broader upgrade to the accommodation precinct in the Reserve, which also includes new road alignment and civil works to improve access, re-grassed green spaces, and upgraded park amenities.
This accommodation uplift is made possible thanks to $5.15 million from the Labor Government and will improve the visitor experience, accommodate increased visitation, and help drive year-round tourism to the region.
The Apollo Bay Recreation Reserve also has a range of bookable tent campsites and powered sites for campers and caravans. The region also offers fantastic free camping sites at the Otways at Stevensons Falls or Dando's Campground.
Bookings will open on 9 October through the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority visit, greatoceanroadparks.com.au/
