Construction of the new $63.6 million Laverton Hospital has reached a key milestone with the building now connected to mains power.

The milestone comes as the program of works moves beyond structural works, with external cladding, glass installation, internal walls, and ceiling framing underway.

Once complete, the new Laverton Hospital will provide modern emergency and contemporary multidisciplinary ambulatory care facilities, specialist facilities for visiting clinicians as well as outpatient services for community health, mental health, and space for an onsite private GP clinic.

The new hospital is being delivered byADCO Constructions Pty Ltd and includes a contribution of $16.8 million from the Albanese Government's Community Health and Hospitals Program.

The project is part of the State Government's record $4.9 billion health infrastructure program, building new hospitals and upgrading hospitals across the State.

As stated by Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey:

"Our government is rolling out a record $4.9 billion health infrastructure program, including the delivery of new hospitals and major hospital redevelopments in remote and regional WA.

"The delivery of a new hospital for Laverton will ensure residents can receive care in a contemporary space and it's great to see the new build powered up and internal works underway."

As stated by Health Minister Meredith Hammat:

"This new facilitywill provide a significant boost to healthcare for the Eastern Goldfields community.

"It will allow us to support more residents to access care on Country, or closer to where they live, and it will support our healthcare workers to deliver that care in a modern, fit-for-purpose environment.

"The new Laverton Hospital is part of our government's commitment to ensuring regional Western Australians can access the healthcare they need, when and where they need it."

As stated by Goldfields-Esperance Minister David Michael:

"The new Laverton Hospital is a real win for one of our most remote communities delivering on our promise to provide increased access to care for people in the Eastern Goldfields.

"We're getting on with the job of prioritising projects that will have a real and lasting benefit for Goldfields communities."

As stated by Kalgoorlie MLA Ali Kent:

"Since becoming member for Kalgoorlie, I have strongly advocated for the delivery of a new hospital for the Laverton community.

"The Cook Government is committed to delivering this project, and these new construction milestones are a powerful demonstration of that."
