  • Milestone reached on development of Brabham Senior High School with contractor appointed
  • New high school will accommodate 1,000 students living in Brabham and Henley Brook
  • School planned to open by 2028
  • Part of the Cook Labor Government's commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and services across the State

The delivery of a new high school in the fast-growing suburb of Brabham is one step closer, with a tender awarded for early contractor involvement.

Education Minister Sabine Winton today announced that PS Structures Pty Ltd will work alongside architects from Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick Architects and consultants on the development of Brabham Senior High School.

The contractor will provide advice to inform the design and planning of the school, which is a Cook Labor Government 2025 election commitment, and will relieve enrolment pressures on Ellenbrook Secondary College.

As part of the 2025-26 State Budget, $130 million was allocated to support the planning and delivery of Stage 1 of the high school, which will accommodate 1,000 students from years 7 to 10 in Brabham and Henley Brook.

Buildings will be delivered in stages, with the first ready for day one of school in 2028.

The new school will feature a double-storey building with administration, student services and general classrooms along with two more double-storey buildings. Of those two buildings, one will house a resource centre and computer science teaching area, while the other will include a cafeteria, food technology and science learning areas.

Three more single-storey buildings will provide an education support centre, a materials technology area, and health and physical education facilities..

A soccer pitch, oval, hardcourts, landscaping and car parking will also be provided for the school.

The major project forms part of the Cook Labor Government's record investment of $5.4 billion in education infrastructure since 2017.

As stated by Education Minister Sabine Winton:

"The Cook Labor Government is committed to delivering quality infrastructure and services across our State, including modern and comfortable schools.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of PS Structures Pty Ltd for early contractor involvement, which marks an exciting milestone for this significant project.

"This new high school will help ease pressure on nearby schools, while also providing first-class facilities that will support students to grow and thrive.

"I look forward to seeing this important project progress, which will undoubtedly have a hugely positive impact on the Brabham community."

As stated by West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti:

"This is fantastic news for our local community, with a new high school set to make a real difference for local families and students. I'm excited to see this project come to life.

"I've been working closely with local primary schools, families and community groups on this project for many years, and I'm so pleased our government is now delivering on this commitment.

"This new high school will be a game changer for the growing communities of Brabham, Dayton and Henley Brook, delivering modern education facilities close to home and only a five-minute walk from the new METRONET Whiteman Park Station."
