Swan Hill's home of Motorsport now has a new name - Swan Hill Motorplex.
Formerly known as Chisholm Reserve, the facility on Sea Lake-Swan Hill Road is home to Swan Hill Motor Racing Club, Swan Hill Kart Club, Swan Hill Sporting Car Club, Swan Hill Drag Club, Swan Hill Motorcycle Club and Swan Hill 4WD Club.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Director of Infrastructure Svetla Petkova said those groups asked Council to re-name the facility to better reflect its use.
"In April last year, we received a request to change the name because it was felt that Chisholm Reserve didn't really reflect the nature of the activities conducted there," Ms Petkova said.
"Council acted on this request, completed a preliminary survey and then called for community submissions. One submission was received in favour of the new name and no objections were received."
Ms Petkova said Council agreed that the previous name did not reflect the area's use, and also supported the name change.
