Colac Area Health and Colac Otway Shire Council are proud to celebrate a new chapter for community connection with the official opening of the Colac Neighbourhood House at its new home at the Colac Youth and Recreation Centre at Central Reserve.
The relocation represents an exciting partnership between Colac Area Health and Council, bringing together community services and facilities in a central and accessible location that will support residents of all ages to connect, learn and participate.
To mark the occasion, Colac Area Health will host an Official Opening on Thursday 30 July 2026, with community members invited to attend a special celebration from 11.00am to 2.00pm.
The event will provide an opportunity for residents to explore the new facility, meet staff and volunteers, learn about current programs and discover the wide range of activities and support services available through the Neighbourhood House.
At the official opening visitors will enjoy:
• A free community BBQ provided by the Rotary Club of Colac Otway
• Live entertainment by the Colac Chorale
• Guided tours of the facility
• Displays and demonstrations from community groups
• Opportunities to meet program coordinators, volunteers and participants
• Information about upcoming activities and services
The Colac Neighbourhood House offers a diverse range of programs that support lifelong learning, health and wellbeing, social connection and community participation.
Current activities include table tennis, 8-ball, yoga and wellbeing sessions, conversational English classes, homework support programs, quilting and craft groups, choirs, playgroups and a variety of community support groups.
Community members are encouraged to attend the celebration, bring family and friends and experience firsthand the opportunities available through the Colac Neighbourhood House.
