The new roundabout at the intersection of Pine Gully Road - Cootamundra Boulevard - Avocet Drive is set to open to traffic tomorrow morning, Friday 1 May 2026.
Construction of the roundabout and intersection treatment have been completed, with just a few remaining elements to be finalised.
Wagga Wagga City Council crews will remove the safety fencing and barriers around the construction site in the morning.

It will be followed by the closure of the temporary access road linking Coppabella Drive to Pine Gully Road. All road users are asked to comply with this closure.
Council constructed the temporary access road in November and December 2025 for use during the construction of the roundabout. Following its closure, the road surface will be removed, and the Active Travel Plan shared path and road verge will be reinstated.
Director Infrastructure Services Henry Pavitt is pleased to announce the roundabout has been delivered on time.
"We would like to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation over the past 14 weeks while the Pine Gully Road - Cootamundra Boulevard intersection was closed for the construction works," Mr Pavitt said.
"We acknowledge the detours impacted residents in the surrounding suburbs as well as the broader community and visitors accessing businesses and educational facilities in the area.
"However, the closure enabled the contractors to minimise the duration of the construction phase and deliver the intersection treatment works to schedule."
The intersection treatment works, which commenced on Tuesday 27 January 2026, are Stage 2 of the Pine Gully Road corridor upgrade project. They include construction of a new roundabout, traffic islands, kerb and guttering, and drainage improvements at the intersection.
"We are now asking residents and motorists to be mindful of the changes to traffic flow which will result from the roundabout's opening, and the closure of the temporary access road," Mr Pavitt said.
"Remember there will now be traffic flowing north-south along the length of Pine Gully Road, which will have implications particularly for those exiting Gobbagombalin via the Muttama Parade intersection."
The Pine Gully Road Corridor upgrade, funded by Wagga Wagga City Council, involves several linked stages designed to improve safety, access, and connectivity across the northern growth area.
The planning process continues for the next stage of project, a new intersection at Estella Road linking to the northern part of Estella Rise via Jumbuck Drive.
