After opening to kindergarten and pre-primary students last year, the brand new Aspiri Primary School is now complete and proving popular with families.
More than 520 students are enrolled at the school, located in Piara Waters in the south of Perth.
Aspiri Primary School has an exceptionally multicultural student population. Families in the school community speak up to 52 different languages or dialects.
Facilities at the school include an administration block, library, staffroom and conference room, early childhood building, three general classroom buildings, a classroom block with an art and crafts area, covered assembly area, canteen, music room, and sports facilities.
While the school is only in its second year of operation, it has already built a strong foundation of success. One of its inaugural staff members, Tamie Douglas, was named Education Assistant of the Year at the prestigious WA Education Awards 2018.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
"This new school is an asset to its local community, and is already providing a high-quality education to its students.
"This was part of a $468.7 million investment to build and improve WA public schools."
As stated by Jandakot MLA Yaz Mubarakai:
"With increasing student enrolments in the area as new families move into the area, Aspiri Primary School will help ease pressure on existing local primary schools.
"I have enjoyed watching the school be established in the community under the leadership of Principal Noel Morgan.
"I wish the school a productive year ahead and I look forward to congratulating the first Aspiri graduating class of 2019."
