- ServiceWA app continues to expand to include three new services

With a focus on boosting community safety during the summer season, the ServiceWA app has now been updated to include three new services, taking another step towards redefining how Western Australians interact digitally with government services.
The new services include:
- SharkSmart - links users to the SharkSmart website with latest shark advice warnings
- Weather Stations - provides timely, relevant and local weather data for rural producers to help them make informed decisions, including air temperature, rainfall, wind speed and soil conditions
- Emergency WA bushfire warning notifications - sends bushfire warning notifications based on a user's current location.
The ServiceWA app was launched earlier this year to assist with WA's COVID-19 response and Safe Transition phase, and has since evolved into a whole-of-government channel with more services to be added in coming months.
Upcoming releases of the app will include the Unclaimed Money Register for users to check if they are owed money from WA organisations or government agencies for items like rental bond refunds, dividend payments and overpayments of utility bills, and the Department of Transport's vehicle look up services, allowing a user to find out when their vehicle registration is approaching renewal.
Over 1.4 million Western Australians have downloaded the ServiceWA app and the FuelWatch service, which was added to the app back in June, has been used over 400,000 times.

As stated by Innovation and the Digital Economy and Emergency Services Minister Stephen Dawson:
"The ServiceWA app is a free, secure and convenient app that is defining a new digital pathway for Western Australians to interact with the State Government.
"These services are important additions to further improve the ServiceWA app on a whole of government channel, with more than 1.4 million app downloads.
"The bushfire warning notifications will have the potential to save lives, in alerting community members if they're in a bushfire warning zone and directing them to Emergency WA for specific advice about what action they need to take."
As stated by Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis:
"Weather and forecasting play a vital role in the agricultural industry, and growers and producers rely heavily on this information for everyday decision making.
"The addition of Weather Stations to the ServiceWA app will mean our farmers have easier access to important and specific weather forecast information, including wind speed and soil conditions."
As stated by Fisheries Minister Don Punch:
"We know Western Australians love to hit the beach during the summer months, so this feature will help our community safely enjoy their time when they're out in the water and be aware of any existing shark alerts."
