New Women's and Children's Hospital Project

nWCH Project

The State Government has committed to continue the planning work for a new world-class Women's and Children's Hospital (nWCH).

The new hospital will be a landmark facility in South Australia dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of babies, children, young people, women and their families, as well as the diverse communities that make up Adelaide's population.

The state-of-the art facility will be co-located with the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) within the Adelaide BioMed City to create direct access to adult clinical support including an intensive care unit, as well as the use of the helipad for medical retrieval of critically unwell patients, including children and babies.

It will continue to be the State's largest maternity and obstetrics service, and provide specialist care for children and adolescents, and high complexity services for paediatrics.

The nWCH Project team is working closely with doctors, nurses , staff and the broader community to ensure South Australian families have access to the most advanced hospital care, technology and medical research for generations to come.
