Young artists wanted for Logan-Japan art exchange
Children in years 2 to 6 are invited to get creative and help represent Logan in an international art exchange with Japanese sister city Shibukawa.
Free Sister City Children's Art Workshops will be held from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, September 19 at the Line & Rail Artspace, and from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, September 26, at Logan Art Gallery.
Children are encouraged to bring a photograph, object or special item that reminds them of Logan or a place important to them. All other materials will be supplied.
Participants will use drawing, painting, collage and mixed-media techniques to create artworks inspired by the theme Our Town Logan.
Up to 60 artworks will be selected for the City of Logan-Shibukawa Sister City Children's Art Exchange Exhibition and displayed in Shibukawa in February 2027.

Logan Libraries Local History Studies is hosting two local studies events this month for people curious about their family trees or interested in life in years gone by.
Tracing Australian Convict Ancestors is a free introductory workshop from 10.30am to 12pm on Wednesday, September 16 at Logan Central Library that will help participants begin researching their Australian convict ancestry.
Learn how to find convict records, trace family connections and uncover the stories of those who helped shape early Australia.
History lovers can also attend Lunch and Learn: A Beenleigh Childhood - Growing Up in a Country Town from 12pm to 1pm on Thursday, September 17 at The Line & Rail Artspace in Beenleigh.
Local Heritage Specialist Dr Hilda Maclean will share insights into what life was like for children growing up in Beenleigh in simpler times, both at school and at home.
