Young photographers across Sydney are invited to get behind the lens and capture their unique perspectives of life in the city.
The Little Sydney Lives photography competition and exhibition is open to photographers aged 5 to 12 years old and calls on imaginative interpretations of the world around them.
Entrants are encouraged to share their creativity in showcasing what life in Sydney means to them, from views of the harbour, bustling streets and multicultural neighbourhoods to serene sunrises, human interactions and everyday moments.
Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore AO said the competition aims to give young photographers the freedom to show Sydney as they experience it.
"Every young person sees Sydney through a different lens and this is a no-holds-barred opportunity to showcase their creativity," the Lord Mayor said.
"We're looking for authentic, colourful and bold depictions of Sydney through the eyes of our next generation."
Images can be captured on camera or phone, should be landscape orientation and no larger than 5MB.
A distinguished panel of judges will select up to 20 finalist images that will feature in an exhibition at Customs House for up to a year.
A winner and runner-up will be announced at the opening of the exhibition on 26 September. The winner will receive an OM System camera pack worth $2,199, and the runner up will receive an OM System camera pack worth $1,299.
Submissions for Little Sydney Lives are now open and close at 11:59pm on Sunday 17 May.
Little Sydney Lives is part of the City of Sydney's year-round Art & About program of events and temporary art projects.
