Nominations are now open for the 2020 Australia Day Awards and community members are encouraged to recognise a local legend or group.

Each year, Council's Australia Day Awards program shines a light on the unsung heroes and organisations who selflessly give their time and expertise to help others and make Baw Baw a better place.

  • Young Citizen of the Year - A person aged under 25 years who has given outstanding service to the community.
  • Australia Day Medallion - A person who has outstanding achievements in any of the nomination categories.
  • Community Event of the Year - An organisation/group who performed a service to the community, raising funds for a charity, event or project.
