Northern Brisbane Congestion: EOI Open for Major Upgrade

Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

The Australian and Queensland Governments are getting on with the job of improving safety and efficiency along one of northern Brisbane's busiest transport corridors by opening expressions of interest (EOI) to duplicate the Linkfield Road Overpass.

The Linkfield Road Overpass, jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, will be duplicated to four lanes with a six-metre height clearance.

The upgrade will help reduce the chance for bridge strikes along this major arterial road.

The Linkfield Road Overpass EOI will be combined with the Beams Road and Gympie Road Intersection Upgrade EOI.

This approach will reduce duplication, allow better coordination deliver certainty for industry, and keep motorists moving throughout the works.

The Australian Government has committed $125.5 million and the Queensland Government $50.5 million to fund the $176 million overpass project.
