NTU Singapore and UOB have launched the UOB Innovation Hub. At the heart of the Hub is a focus on experimentation and bold thinking.
Student teams from the new NTU Venture Creation Programme will be among the first to use the space, tackling areas such as sustainability and artificial intelligence.
The Hub will house incubation facilities, including dedicated workspaces and shared infrastructure that enable founders to build and test their ideas without high upfront costs.
The unveiling was witnessed by Guest of Honour Mr Heng Swee Keat, Chairman of the National Research Foundation, Singapore.
NTU President Professor Ho Teck Hua said the hub reflects the University's commitment to deepening a culture of innovation across campus.
"Today, we launched the UOB Innovation Hub. This is a key milestone in NTU's efforts to deepen our culture of innovation across the university. The Innovation Hub is a space where members of the NTU community can push the frontiers of innovation by taking risks, testing bold ideas, and turning them into solutions that could change the world. It will help incubate the next generation of startups and develop them into SMEs of the future. In time, the Innovation Hub will become a cornerstone of Singapore's start-up ecosystem," he said.
The UOB Innovation Hub will continue to serve as a learning space with smart classrooms while taking on an expanded role as a hub for innovation and venture creation.
It is supported by a landmark gift from UOB and the Wee Foundation.
