A police officer has been charged after allegedly accessing child abuse material online.
The 48-year-old male sergeant, who is attached to a specialist command, was arrested following a vehicle stop at Bossley Park about 1.30pm yesterday (Friday 22 January 2021).
He was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with use carriage service to access child abuse material, and not keep firearm safely.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 23 January 2021).
The officer has been suspended from duty.
