A police officer has been charged following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command.
Earlier this month (June 2023), officers from the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident involving a serving police officer attached to a specialist command whilst off-duty.
Following inquiries, the 48-year-old male senior constable was arrested today (Friday 9 June 2023) and taken to Sutherland Police Station.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV) and common assault (DV).
The officer was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday 14 June 2023.
His employment status is currently under review.
