Officer charged - Western Region 9 December

A police officer has been charged after alleged misconduct earlier this year.

Officers attached to New England Police District initiated an investigation into alleged police misconduct following an arrest on Sunday 12 June 2022.

Following investigations, a senior constable attached to the Western Region was yesterday (Thursday 8 December 2022) issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for four counts of common assault, perverting the course of justice and tampering with evidence with intent to mislead a judicial tribunal.

He is due to appear in Armidale Local Court on Monday 23 January 2023.

The officer's employment status is currently under review.
