Officer charged with perverting the course of justice, NSW

A police officer has been issued a court attendance notice for perverting the course of justice, NSW Police say.

On the evening of Friday 8 January 2016, the off duty sergeant from the Central Metropolitan Region was stopped for the purposes of a random breath test on the Pacific Highway at North Sydney.

It will be alleged the officer left the scene without undergoing the breath test.

Following an investigation, the officer was issued a court attendance notice for the offence of act with intent to pervert the course of justice.

She is expected to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 18 August 2016.
