Officers charged - North West Metropolitan Region

Two police officers have been charged following the alleged assault of a woman in Sydney's west.

In January 2023, police and other emergency services responded to a concern for welfare report in Emu Plains.

It's alleged that during the interaction with officers, a 49-year-old woman received injuries.

Following the incident, an investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the alleged actions of the officers involved.

Yesterday (Thursday 16 March 2023), the officers – a senior constable and constable – were issued Court Attendance Notices for multiple offences.

The 26-year-old senior constable was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s), possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, intentionally etc publish etc protected information, intentionally record intimate image without consent etc, and intentionally distribute intimate image without consent etc.

The 27-year-old constable was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s).

The officers – attached to a command in the North West Metropolitan Region – will appear in Penrith Local Court on Monday 1 May 2023.

Both officers have been suspended without pay.
