Camden Council, in conjunction with the Australian Breastfeeding Association, will be providing FREE Breastfeeding Education Classes for Camden residents.
There will be classes held on Saturdays 2 May, 29 August and 21 November, 2.30-5pm, at Julia Reserve Community Centre.
The face-to-face workshops will provide practical skills to help your baby establish breastfeeding, solutions for common challenges and a resource pack with more information and support available.
Mayor of Camden, Therese Fedeli, said the sessions were part of Council's ongoing support for families, as Camden's baby and new parent population continued to grow.
"Camden is one of the best places to raise a young family," she said. "It's about putting down roots in a welcoming community, having access to great local facilities and playgrounds, and enjoying a wide range of family-friendly events right on our doorstep.
"We want our young families to feel informed, confident and supported, and I encourage all eligible mothers to take advantage of these valuable workshops."
A range of other activities for babies and their parents and carers are available across the area, offering opportunities to connect with other families and support early learning and development, including:
- Parent and Bub Yoga - a partnership between Council and CORE Kids Yoga, this is an eight-week parent and bub yoga program run during school terms.
