In a step towards strengthening the competitiveness of Oman's building materials sector, ESCWA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, held a workshop and consultation meeting on 9 April to review the preliminary findings of a market study on the building materials sector.
Discussions focused on market structure, pricing, and competition, drawing on institutional, legal, and macroeconomic analysis. Participants also assessed how well the findings reflected market realities, identified data gaps, and highlighted areas requiring further analysis.
The event brought together government representatives, the Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention Center, and ESCWA experts to exchange views and support evidence-based decisions.
