OMCG arrest at Logan

Detectives from the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad have charged the Sergeant of Arms of the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) following an alleged violent assault at Logan Village on April 27 2022.

At around 7pm, a 26-year-old man, in the company of another man and woman, allegedly drove up to a 25-year-old man on Maranoa Drive and pulled him inside the car.

Once inside, the victim was allegedly repeatedly assaulted while being verbally threatened whilst a shotgun was pointed at him.

The victim was then allegedly pushed from the car as it drove off.

Yesterday, as a result of investigations, police located and arrested the 26-year-old Beenleigh man at a Staplyton service station yesterday afternoon.

The man was taken into custody, charged with extortion, assault occasioning bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.

He was refused police bail and will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Adrian Sala, Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad, confirmed the offender and victim are known to each other, and charges further demonstrated the danger of young men associating with gang members.

"Young men who hang around or join gangs will find there is no loyalty and definitely no brotherhood, and I encourage them to look at the QPS Gangs Exit Program to assist them in making better choices," Detective Senior Sergeant Sala said.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as investigations continue.
