Open Access journals at Library

Do you want more quality information on a topic, than a simple google search can provide?

Swan Hill Regional Library have joined many public libraries across Victoria, to trial a new online journal database.

Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said the new database would provide access to more than 26 thousand vetted, quality, scientific journals from across the world, including Australia.

"Open Access is a great resource which provides free access to more than 7 million articles on science, technology, health and more.

"The resource would be beneficial for businesses, agricultural facilities and secondary and tertiary students," she said.

Ms Cullinan said that the database is being offered free as a trial until May 2021.

"The Library will be trialing the database until May and would appreciate community feedback to evaluate the resource.

"We are asking the users to complete a short survey and it will help us to decide whether we will subscribe, once the trial is over.

Ms Cullinan said users could access the program via the library's website.

"Simply enter a topic to search the library catalogue and then click on the 'online articles' tab.
