Victorian businesses have welcomed today's announcement to remove significant restrictions on regional businesses.
"The announcement by the State Government today to enable regional Victorians to return to a COVID normal environment is a positive message both for regional Victoria, and indeed for the rest of the state," Tim Piper the Victorian head of the peak employer association Ai Group said today.
"While there will be significant continued restrictions, these changes provide an element of hope across the board. They enable people to earn an income once again and businesses to be operating, albeit in a limited form.
"We are pleased the Government has recognised that different geographic areas in Victoria can be treated differently. We encourage the Government to consider how such a targeted and nuanced approach can be adopted in metropolitan Melbourne.
"The opening of the drive-through vaccination centre is flexible thinking by the Government and is indicative of the approach we must adopt to vaccination processes. We should make it as easy as possible to be vaccinated and help people recognise that being vaccinated helps both them and the community," Mr Piper said.
