Operation X-ray Atilla, Inala

Inala police have seized drugs and firearms during multiple search warrants in Brisbane's south as part of an ongoing operation in the Inala policing district.

Operation X-ray Atilla was launched in April to target offenders through the proactive enforcement and apprehension of high-risk high harm offenders.

Key offences targeted include possession of illicit drugs and illegal firearms.

On June 3, general duties officers from Inala Police Station with the support of Public Safety Response Team, Tactical Crime Squad, South Brisbane District Intel, and Brisbane Dog Squad, conducted separate search warrants at two addresses in Inala.

Police will allege a search of a Freeman Road address resulted in the seizure of a BB Gun, butterfly knife, throwing star blade and clip seal bag containing a small quantity of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA).

A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of weapons category M (knife and star blade) and one count each of unlawful possession of weapons category H (BB gun) and possess dangerous drugs (MDMA).

He is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on July 7.

The separate search of a Balsa Street address is alleged to have resulted in the seizure of cannabis, revolver air guns with ammunition, cash, flick knives, an extendable baton, and oxycodone.

A 44-year-old Inala man was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of weapons category A and M, (knife and revolver air gun), and one count each of possession of dangerous drugs (cannabis), store explosives without authority and possessing restricted item (baton).

He is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on July 23.

These seizures are in addition to search warrants conducted on April 4 and April 28 at Inala and Forest Lake addresses which resulted in the seizure of multiple drugs and cash.

A 47-year-old Woolloongabba woman was charged with two counts each of possess dangerous drugs (gamma-hydroxybutyrate and methamphetamine), possess pipes and utensils that had been used (glass pipe), and one count each of property acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence (clip seal bags) and property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence (syringes).

The woman is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on June 13.

A 17-year-old female received a drug diversion and two people were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Operation X-ray Atilla remains ongoing.
